Into the Woods Auditions
Saint Peter’s University Announces Open Auditions for Into the Woods
Saint Peter’s University invites students and members of the Saint Peter’s community interested in participating in the upcoming production of Into the Woods by Stephen Sondheim to attend open auditions at the Roy Irving Theatre this December.
Auditions will take place on the following dates:
- Tuesday, December 1: 2–4 p.m.
- Wednesday, December 2: 2–5 p.m.
- Thursday, December 3: 4–6 p.m.
Anyone interested in auditioning or participating in the production is encouraged to attend.
Those auditioning should prepare and memorize 16–32 bars of a song from a contemporary musical, preferably in the style of Sondheim, but not from Into the Woods. Participants should also prepare a memorized monologue lasting one minute or less that showcases their dramatic abilities.
Speaking roles that do not require singing are also available. Assistance with selecting or coaching an audition song is available upon request.
Production Dates
The production is scheduled for the following performances:
- Friday, April 30: 7 p.m.
- Saturday, May 1: 1:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.
- Sunday, May 2: 1:30 p.m.
Technical rehearsals will take place during the evenings of April 26–29. All auditions will be held at the Roy Irving Theatre.
