MPA Students Present at National Event

The day-longĀ eventĀ simulated how governments might react to an influx of asylum seekers.Ā Henriette Diene ’19, Erica Rodriguez ’19, Talah Hughes ’19, Johanna Soriano ’20 and Devan Tierney ’19 identified benefits that refugees contribute to a host country and then evaluated policies that would facilitate their integration into a host society.
The program tested theĀ studentsā skills in addressing a critical real-world crisis. The Saint Peter’sĀ MPAĀ studentsĀ took on governmental cabinet-level positions and then a simulation determined how their policies affected citizens, the economy and theĀ migrantsĀ themselves.
